E3 2012
16 April 2012 - 02:48 PM
yup,it's nearly that time again, doesn't time fly?
first bit of details are coming out
so,E3 as usual is the beginning of June with the E3 site saying 5th June to 7th June(must be for the public)
SONY and Microsoft have revealed their dates for their conferences
Microsoft will be on Monday June 4th at 10am Pacific time(6pm UK time)
SONY will have their conference on June 4th 6pm Pacific time(2am Tuesday UK time)
too early for you in the UK?...remember that its the Queens Jubilee on the Tuesday,so hopefully you wont have to go to Work anyway(and the May Day Bank Holiday has been moved also,so we will be off on the Monday as well, perfect for MS and SONY conferences....and really, who gives a shit about Nintendo?)
bring on June!!!! -

Tv Channels Coming To Xbl
10 October 2011 - 09:02 PM
Major Nelson
I have bolded the ones that looks like will be for UK,AUS,U.S and CAN....don't think we have people from any other countries on here, except Pogue who is from another planet
some of them listed,we already have eg.-Last.FM(UK/US)...but its good to see Lovefilm(UK equivalent of Netflix) coming to the UK XBL,some channels i haven't heard of that are coming to UK,like what the fuck is 'Crackle'?
but either way,it looks like MS have really pulled out all the stops this time round and not just made cool stuff for US
...although saying that i am pissed right off that Manga Entertainment is U.S only
notice how not everything requires Xbox Live Gold, you can pretty much thank the BBC for that because that is why its not been on XBL before because it would be illegal to charge for XBLG to get it,as we already pay a TV license for the BBC
worthy mentions i think are SyFy(US)
Mobeye will be over the moon that he can watch Big Brother on Channel 5 on his 360 now,LOL
Bravo(US),Bravo is no longer running in the UK
ABC iView for Australia
looks like the UK will just be missing ITV now for Terrestrial channels
I am quite happy with all these, not sure if i will make use of the services though,it all depends if they have subtitles,SKY TV on 360 is fucking brill, lots of movies(i counted some 300 to watch last time i was on) and sports and shit to watch, but again no subtitles,so i have not used the service as much as i would like to

Ridley Scott to Direct New 'Blade Runner'
Quote
Weve known since March that Warner Bros. financing and production company Alcon Entertainment was working on securing a rights package (one that included rights specifically for prequels and sequels, not remakes) for Ridley Scotts iconic sci-fi thriller Blade Runner, but news has been quiet since then. Not so today. Deadline reports that the films original director, Ridley Scott, is set to direct and produce a new Blade Runner film that advances [the] seminal and groundbreaking science fiction film.
The exclusive news doesnt come with many details its unknown if this next film will be a sequel or a prequel, whether any of the original cast will be involved, and how much it will reach back to the films source material, Philip K. Dicks novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? Considering that the first film was only very loosely based on that work, its safe to say that we probably wont get too much more Dick in this new film. The only thing we do know is that it will not be a remake, at least as far as Alcons rights package guarantees that.
The original Blade Runner was released by Warner Bros. in 1982, and the Harrison Ford-starring film was adapted by Hampton Fancher and David Peoples. The film was nominated for two Academy Awards (Best Visual Effects, and Best Art Direction). It also routinely tops "best of" lists and was, in 2007, "was named the 2nd most visually influential film of all time by the Visual Effects Society." As Deadline notes, the film was not a blockbuster at the time of its release, but it has clearly gained a huge amount of respect in the intervening thirty years.
