Tomorrow I head to to Las Vegas for the annual Consumer Electronics Show. The show will open with the annual Microsoft Keynote on Wednesday night at the Las Vegas Hilton. Normally, I’d be live blogging the entire event but this year we have something better planned: A live video stream. Head over to the official Microsoft page on Facebook where you’ll be able to watch the entire Microsoft Keynote address live starting at 9:30p ET/6:30p PT/0230 GMT. I’ll still be recording the entire audio portion of the Keynote to post on my blog. Plus I’ll be Tweeting the highlights of the Keynote as they happen, as well as whatever else I come across at the show that seems interesting over the course of the week. If If you are going to CES, look for me on the show floor as we shoot videos for Inside Xbox (US.)

What are we going to announce? Tune in Wednesday night and find out.

FWIW- i think Microsoft really need to announce some great stuff,as PS3 exclusives are getting all the limelight this year

anyway, this from Starwars.com says that Darth Vader also has an announcement to make(Leia,i am your father as well?)

The Empire is headed to Vegas, baby. Darth Vader, accompanied by a legion of his finest Imperial troops, will address emissaries from "a galaxy far, far away" for a most impressive announcement at the Consumer Electronics Show -- Thursday, January 6th at 11:30 AM PST Panasonic Booth #9408.

Be prepared... The Force is strong with this one.

for the star wars one,TheForce.net speculate that it could be related to The Old Republic, but i can't really see what they could announce for that game that is worth of a convention announcement,as they have already been releasing videos and new jobs etc on normal news sites like Kotaku...unless maybe they announce a console version of The Old Republic in the works, and then i will be IN

they also speculate that it could be Star Wars on Blu-Ray,which i couldn't give two shits about, and i think they have already been announced for Fall 2011 anyway,so can't see what else they could announce for the BR collection

anyway I am in Hospital on Thursday so i may miss this event,i will try and keep posted everything that gets announced when i can

The most anticipated Blu-ray release ever -- the Star Wars Saga -- emerges from light speed this September 2011. For the first time, all six of George Lucas' epic films (Episodes I-VI) are united in one complete set. Fans worldwide are able to pre-order now with online retailers.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will release Star Wars in three distinct sets to meet the needs of every Star Wars fan:

* Star Wars: The Complete Saga on Blu-ray (9-disc Set includes all six films)
* Star Wars: Prequel Blu-ray Trilogy (3-disc set includes Episodes I-III)
* Star Wars: Original Blu-ray Trilogy (3-disc set includes Episodes IV-VI)

Star Wars: The Complete Saga on Blu-ray will feature all six live-action Star Wars feature films utilizing the highest possible picture and audio presentation, along with three additional discs and more than 30 hours of extensive special features including never-before-seen deleted and alternate scenes, an exploration of the exclusive Star Wars archives, and much more.

Star Wars: The Complete Saga on Blu-ray will be available for $139.99 US/$179.99 CAN and the Star Wars: Trilogy Sets for $69.99 US/89.99 CAN. Pricing for each set will vary by international territory.

Flanked by a legion of his finest Imperial stormtroopers, Darth Vader himself joined Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment President Mike Dunn at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to announce the release, vowing "The forces of the Empire will be at your disposal to assure the success of this endeavor."

"The Star Wars Saga is the most anticipated Blu-ray collection since the launch of the high-def format," Dunn said. "The epic franchise pioneered sound and visual presentation in theaters and is perfectly suited to do it again in the home, with a viewing experience only possible with Blu-ray."

"With all six episodes available for the first time in one collection, this is a great way for families and home audiences to experience the complete Saga from start to finish," said Doug Yates, Vice President of Marketing, Online, Distribution, Lucasfilm Ltd. "And with the quality of high-definition, Blu-ray provides the most immersive home experience possible."

"The Star Wars franchise has been the most anticipated Blu-ray release by Amazon's customers," said Bill Carr, Vice President of Music and Video at Amazon.com. "We think that Star Wars will be incredibly popular with our customers, and we expect pre-orders to be very strong."

George Lucas actually announced the Blu Ray DVDs last year, his words were something along the likes of 'i would love to say the Blu Rays will be out this year but they wont, they will be out next year'

so its not much new news for me

the never before seen deleted or alternate scenes will be good, but other than that i am sure the 30 hrs will prolly include all that's been released over the 6 films already, and they always include Commentaries when they add up the DVD extras with the time..so that could be over 12 hrs right there

I wonder if Lucas has fucked with them again?
