i thought i had already made one of these type of threads, but i can't find it so oh well

instead of creating thread after thread,i thought i would creat this one thread that would put all rumours and announcements together...about things that,as said have been announced and other things that i have heard

the name of the game..is Star Wars

so,starting off this week
Posted Image
Lucasarts producer would love to see Super Star Wars trilogy on the xbox 360,whether thats remakes or ports onto XBLA i am not sure
Posted Image
the Super Star Wars games were Nintendo Exclusives at the time, and are currently available on Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console

Spark Unlimited is a Video game company based in California with 100+ employees who actually own the company
Posted Image
they have been looking for

Quote

"a senior gameplay engineer for a 3rd Person Action/Adventure title in a high-profile science fiction franchise currently in development for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC markets."

with other things mentioned as Unreal 3 engine and "unannounced third person sword fighting game (well known IP, Xbox 360, PS3)"

sword fighting game....?...surely they can't still be looking for a producer for that Kinect game?

anyway,Spark Unlimited past games are
Call of Duty:Finest Hour
Turning point:Fall of Liberty
Legendary

http://www.nowgamer.com/news/3630/spark-do...ght-sabre-title

i looked on Spark Unlimited website and at the beginning of April they were also looking for a 'great' concept artist,so surely thats too late to be looking for a great concept artist if it is that Kinect game?..right?

they are actually looking for about 15 places from Senior Character Artist to Senior Gameplay Engineer

this is from June 30th......look at that first line in the second paragraph('public disclosure still months away')..that Kinect game has already been made public...hmm

Quote

Spark is pleased to announce that its latest project is hiring for production! We are in production on an unannounced high-profile, popular game property for next generation console release.

With the public disclosure of the title still months away, we are looking for innovative and creative professionals to bring to life a Triple-A game for an awaiting, highly critical audience. Employing agile techniques (SCRUM) we are developing this product utilizing our experiences with the Unreal engine.

For those highlighted, click on the job title for a detailed job description and application instructions.*

may of already posted this somewhere, not sure

A New Hope

well,we can't go without mentioning Star Wars Battlefront III...right?
Posted Image

well, head over to Battlefront3.net and they have some good arguements on why we shouldn't give up hope just yet for Star Wars Battlefront 3,with the upcoming Celebration V in August where they announce upcoming Star Wars project(known Projects also of course)

Star Wars Battlefront II was announced at Celebration III back in April 2005

the article looks at 4 pieces of evidence, and looks at them individually :Concept Art,Video game footage,Amazon and Gamestop listings and finally...the GameSpy server list

oh,and yes that box art is fake...sorry,looks good though don't it?

><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>><><><><

i am thinking that maybe i will be a little sad when SWBF3 does get announced, because then all the speculation and rumours will vanish and there will be know more detective work on the rumours for me...well,i guess i can always start on Battlefront 4....HAHA,remember when that was rumoured?...crazy

from now on anything i hear rumours or otherwise i will post it here....and for any star wars game

would be awesome if super star wars trilogy came to xbox, id rather it be on disk than arcade but then they would make 3 seperate disks at full price instead of all on 1 disk for 60$....

just to add:Terminal Reality studios are doing the Kinect Star Wars game,so this Spark Unlimited star wars game is definitely not that

for the super star wars trilogy,if remade...would you like them to stay as side scrollers,or do you think fully 3D platform games would be the best?

as for TOR -yes i am still harpering on about a console version..Bioware have said that they haven't even thought about a console version, they are just concentrating on the making the game for now.....that doesn't sound like a definite NO to me..so here's hoping,it would be a nice substitute for not getting FF14 on the 360

if my PC could run it i would give the BETA a go,i had no problems when i was with Star Wars Galaxies, but that was a few years back now

some good stuff coming through here

Spark Unlimited

okay,for what its worth,i love this site...its Battlefront3.net

remember that Spark Unlimted rumour about a star wars game(its up above in my first post if you wanna recap)

well, they have caught a whif of it and they emailed Spark Unlimted, and got an answer
Battlefront3.net
this is their full page quoted

Quote

So there hasn’t been much lately in the way of news for Battlefront 3. E3 came up short, as well as Comic-Con… what’s next? Well I have some faith that it may be announced at the upcoming Star Wars Celebration V, which takes place August 12 – 15, 2010.

There was a rumor, well not so much a rumor as speculation, that Spark Unlimited may be doing Battlefront 3. This rumor sparked from this post by NowGamer.com:

“The job ad on Gamasutra requires “a senior gameplay engineer for a 3rd Person Action/Adventure title in a high-profile science fiction franchise currently in development for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC markets.”

The successful candidate will also “be tasked with functionality goals to realize the vision for a high profile next-generation property currently in prototype development
.” The listing also mentions the Unreal 3 engine.

“Spark requires a senior gameplay engineer”

If this didn’t already sound a lot like the Kinect Star Wars title pre-visualised and shown at Microsoft’s E3 press conference
, online super-sleuth Superannuation spotted the LinkedIn profile of Spark employee John Lawrie who lists an “unannounced third person sword fighting game (well known IP, Xbox 360, PS3)” on his CV.”

Anyway, this sparked my curiosity a little bit so I decided to send off an email to Spark Unlimited. I honestly didn’t expect a response, but I did get one back this evening.

Their response was:

Quote

“We are the solely the developers of the games. The publishers are the owners of said properties. As such, it is their prerogative as to when to announce a game. I can tell you it is generally a year after we start before a project is announced to the public. So, the game for which are hiring won’t be announce for some time… maybe Comic-Con 2011.

Thanks for inquiring. Sorry we can’t divulge what we are working on.”

So even if it is our beloved Battlefront 3, it looks like we’ll still be waiting awhile before it’s even announced.

Come on Celebration V!!!

so,let me just say that i am at least happy that there are still rumours

here is the original thread i made on here about the unknown Star Wars:Legends game
http://www.xbox360gamingworld.com/forum/in...?showtopic=5494

The Force Unleashed II

pre-order bonus,if you pre-order from Gamestop, you get the bonus skin of Maulkiller, which is a mix between Darth Maul and Starkiller

TXB

Quote

Fans who pre-order at Gamestop will receive the exclusive in-game playable Maulkiller Skin, available for Xbox 360 and PS3 only while supplies last. The skin allows gamers to play as Maulkiller, the fusion of two disparate Force users, Darth Maul and Starkiller, who quickly produced physical and mental instabilities that led to the unfortunate clone's destruction.

LucasArts admits that fans have been forgiving of games in the past

CVG

Quote

LucasArts has admitted that Star Wars fans have been "forgiving" of underwhelming games related to the franchise in the past.

The firm is busy creating The Force Unleashed 2 - which will be published by Activision in the UK. It has already told CVG that the game will offer fans a "bold ending".

The Force Unleashed 2 pits you as Darth Vader's former apprentice - only this time, you take revenge on your former dark master.

"Star Wars fans have been forgiving over the years," LucasArts executive producer Haden Blackman told MCV.

"But we don't take that for granted. We are so paranoid about tarnishing Star Wars. We want to make every game as good as possible, but it doesn't always work out that way.

"The Force Unleashed II is a better game. Whether it reviews or sells as well, I have no idea."

Blackman previously told CVG that LucasArts would "love" to create a next-gen remake of one Star Wars game that most certainly didn't disappoint - N64's Super Star Wars.

not much to report this week, apart from the Lucasarts Producer of The Force Unleashed,Haden Blackman has quit after 13 years, apart from working on TFU games he did Star Wars:Force Commander and Star Wars Galaxies and comics

CVG

this coupled with Lucasarts president Darrell Rodriguez(or D-Rod)resigning as Lucasarts president in May,seems things are getting a little shaken up at LA...which hopefully for us,can only be a good thing

okay dokey...this week

Ex-Ubisoft creative director joins Lucasarts for unannounced game

so i think just today its been announced that Splinter Cell Designer has joined Lucasarts for development on an unannounced project

IGN

Quote

Former Ubisoft Montreal creative director Clint Hocking has joined LucasArts to develop an unannounced project, the company confirmed to IGN this morning.

Hocking spent the last nine years at Ubisoft heading development on Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, and more recently Far Cry 2.

He resigned from the company abruptly in May citing the need for new opportunities.

LucasArts has seen plenty of turnover the past few months. Paul Meegan replaced Darrell Rodriguez as president of the company in June, and Force Unleashed II producer Haden Blackman resigned just last week.

remember the Live Action TV show that was to be set inbetween Episode 3 and 4?

well,it is on hold(perhaps forever)because of.....financial reasons, which is very surprising,as Lucas himself put up the money for the prequel trilogy,i would of thought he would of done it again so that he would of had more control

http://widetrends.com/george-lucas-star-wa...n-on-hold-fund/

Quote

George Lucas has put plans for Star Wars live action TV series based on the legendary sci-fi franchise “on hold” because of financial issues, the Star Wars creator announced. Lucas, 66, announced plans for a small screen Star Wars Spin-Off back in 2005 and, after a long hiatus spent writing scripts, he began casting actors for the show last year (2009).

But, according to the director George Lucas, the anticipated Stars TV show may be on hold, possibly forever!

Quote

But now Lucas says they may not be able to pull off the show with the money available for such a TV show:

“The live action TV show is kind of on hold because we have scripts, but we don’t know how to do them. They literally are Star Wars, only we’re going to have to try to do them at a tenth the cost. And it’s a huge challenge, a lot bigger than what we thought it was gonna be.”

rumours have started to do the rounds that September's issue of OXM has news on Battlefront 3....nope i don't have any proof and i have no idea why this has started,or where it originated from...just thought i would put it out there

this is looking so much full of awesomness

Star Wars:The Old Republic

3 new species announced

http://www.swtor.com...rticle/20100806

Quote

So far we’ve only dropped hints about the range of playable species in Star Wars™: The Old Republic™. You may have heard about the Rattataki Bounty Hunter, Chiss Imperial Agent, or the Twi’lek Smuggler, but we can tell you now that all classes will include optional non-human species.
Posted Image
Among the most exciting character types you’ll be able to choose from is the Sith Pureblood. For the first time ever in a video game, Players can choose to be a member of the original Sith Race, the red-skinned descendants of such notorious Sith Lords as Naga Sadow and Marka Ragnos. The rage of these fallen ancestors of the Sith Pureblood lives on in the Sith Warriors who dominate the battlefield with their intimidating presence and aggressive tactics.
Posted Image
A near-human species with unrivaled strength in the Force, Miraluka can become powerful Jedi Knights. Hailing from a homeworld with no visible light waves, the Miraluka evolved to see their surroundings entirely through the Force. To cover their vestigial eye sockets, they wear veils and blindfolds that range from colorful to austere. Miraluka Jedi Knights charge into battle with the Force guiding the graceful attacks of their Lightsabers to always hit home.

Posted Image
As one of the most wise and mystical species in the galaxy, the green-skinned Mirialans can become powerful Jedi Consulars. Mirialans are known for their symbolic facial tattoos and natural agility. They are also respected for their patience and insight. Mirialan Jedi Consulars lead Republic Forces into battle with assurance and harness powerful Force energies to defeat their enemies.

Posted Image
Among the slaves serving the Sith Empire, there are many aliens with Force potential, but few species have the grit to join the ranks of the Sith. A proud species from an inhospitable world, Zabraks are among the few with the determination and ferocity to become Sith Inquisitors. Sporting horns and facial tattoos, these fierce aliens are self-reliant and aggressive. Zabrak Sith Inquisitors intimidate both their enemies and their colleagues with their fighting prowess and ruthless command of the Force.

As excited for these playable species as we hope you are, the list is not yet complete. We look forward to announcing further options in the coming months.

?....not sure what you mean as 'is that your avatar'...you mean a disguise/suit for your avatar?

yeah its a little toy, when i previewed it with my avatar,it walks around and there is also a snowspeeder that circles round the AT-AT and then trips it up...no wire can be seen though

i am in the middle of a Star Wars Marathon, and funnily enough i watched Empire yesterday...the Hoth Battle is still a stand out moment in history of film!!!

i feel the Hoth Wampa scene has been spoilt somewhat though,i liked the original, where you don't see as much of it...you know, its one of those cases...'less is more'

everything else about the special edition of Empire though is pretty spot on,not many other disappointing things like Star Wars(Han shooting second) and Return of the Jedi(music number at Jabba's palace and Heyden 'look at my dorky face' christensen as a ghost at the end)

as i included the 2003 double DVD of Clone Wars cartoon inbetween Episode 2 and 3...i am undecided whether i will watch my double bill DVD of the Ewoks adventures(battle for endor/caravan of courage)after Jedi

I'd pass on the Ewok movies, just on principle alone.

Quote

BioWare's latest info update for The Old Republic reveals two "advanced Jedi" classes will be playable, the Guardian and the Sentinel. Guardians are more defense- and leadership-based. Sentinels bring two lightsabers and a whirlwind of damage.
