Been meaning to do a review for a while now but its just been to damn hot out and too damn busy in work.

I wont do a Youtube as you have probably seen it, so i will dive right in

I was waiting for this fim like the coming of Christ. This is the Big summer film, so did it deliver? The answer is a resounding yes, but it not without its pit falls
I wont got to far into the story but Sam Starts College, while Megan Fox (another future Mrs SkinToxicated) straddles motor cycles.
The story twists and turns quite abit, i have actually had to stop typing and think what actually happened........Oh, yeah, Sam finds a piece of the Allspark and begins to have these freak outs, and that then leads to the Matrix of leadership and that is related to the Primes (to which Optimus is the last) and a Transformer called the Fallen needs it to,....Erm, actually i cant remember how eveything ties in. And this one (if not its biggest problem). The film seems to be so tied up in its action sequences (and there are plenty of those, Prime fighting 3 Decepticons at once was awesome!), it gets to a point where they have to press the pause button and explaing what the hell is going on, which is done by Sky/Jetfire on a kinda "flash back story" (which i think is a cheap way of telling a story). They all end up in Eygpt and it all kicks off

dont read unless you want to be spoiltClick for read!
yes Prime did die, but he did come back, thru some convaluted means

The more i read this back, the more it looks like i didnt like the fim. I did like the film, but it did seem to groan under its own weight, its almostas if the actually had trouble spending the budget.
There were bits in the film that i thought could have been cut. Sams mum eating a hash at the college and getting high and doing some emmbarrasing things, which was funny and i was lolling but i didnt move the story along. Another exmaple is the inclusion of 2 Autobots called the "Twins" and they were the kinda Artoo and Threepio of the film (but nowhere near as good) and they were really funny and had me laughing all the time, but thye didnt serve anything to the film, and considering this film is knocking on the door of the 2 and a half hour club, you felt it was unnecessary.

I really did like the film, and i will get this on bluRay, but it just felt a bit too big for the screen and it seemed to lack depth. If you are gonna go and see this film leave your brain at the door and just sit back and watch one fo rthe most visually spectacular films ever

all in all, 8 out of 10, not as good as Star Trek but better than Terminator

Great review Skin; haven't seen Star Trek yet, but I also agree it was a little better than Terminator Salvation (and I hated that movie AND the game!). I personally didn't like Transformers 2 even though I had high hopes for it. As most reviewers said, you'll enjoy the movie if you leave your brain outside the theater. Some issues I had are covered over at http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/smg-transf...-questions.html if anyone cares to read.

I thought it was a pretty decent movie, but I had a few problems with it.

First of all is the language. I've never heard a robot cuss so much. F-bombs are everywhere, along with quite a few Ass, Pussy and Bitch. The twins were the worst, it seemed like they couldn't even speak without cussing. Unfortuneately, this alone will bar my children from seeing it for a couple of years. That's a shame, since they were really looking forward to it.

The other thing that bothered me was Optimus Prime. He was just absolutely SAVAGE. Don't get me wrong, it was completely awesome. It seemed really out of character for him though.

The other new 'bots, Sideswipe and Arcee were great, but they didn't get more than 30 seconds screen time. Of course Ironhide and Ratchet got even less than that.

Loved Jetfire, the Constructicons were great. The Fallen was not what I expected.

All in all, I liked the movie, get it on DVD/BLURAY at least.
Respawns give you a chance to suck less.

My Xbox has it's own blog, does yours?

yeah the new Bots were severely under used, to the point where you think "was there any point of putting them in?". The Twins were a waste, they were just there for some cheap laughs but the film could have done without them

why did they bother going to all the trouble to ferry Primes body to Eygpt and dig out the matrix of leadership to revive him, when they could have used that shard of the Allspark that Fox was carrying

Bit of thin explantion if you ask me. All thru TF1 they said that the allspark creates life, there was no caveats mentioning "oh, it wont work on Primes" It would have been easier for the film not to have 2 Allsparks shards (one Sam had and the other in that portected vault) and just have the one.

I think the movie had way too many plot holes and just things that didn't make sense. Hopefully there will be an extended movie when the dvds come out where all the questions in the link I provided are answered.

My take on it was that the shard that Sam had was too small. It was only enough to give Jet Fire (A living Autobot) partial mobility. The shard that was stolen looked to be about 5 times larger. Also the Matrix Of Leadership is all about the Primes! It can create a Prime as in Rodimus Prime or resurrect Optimus Prime.

Mud Flap and Skids were awesome. Down grading them because they represent the worst of blacks is a mistake. Maybe they will give the morons that actually act like them cause to change and join civilized society. I thought they were very funny. My 5 year old son loved them. As far as the bad language goes so long as you teach your children that it is "movie" language and not something to be repeated they have no problem. My 5 year old has seen the movie 3 times now and his favorite quote from the movie? Mud Flap telling Devistator "In your stinking face!"

I started to watch it. I stopped once it was a long stretch of Shia with no Transformers. His acting seems like he can only play characters in serious movies that go "WHOA!" and scream stuff like "OPTIMUS!!!".
Like I've said before, I don't mind humans in Transformer movies, as there were some in the cartoon. I just don't like how it seems to revolve around them...
And the use of what I call 'hardcore language' is very much uncalled for in a more family friendly action movie such as Transformers. That would be like seeing Anakin saying, "I fucking hate you Obi-Wan!". It ruins the spirit of it...

It must be nice to live in a fantasy world where no one ever speaks a bad word. Real world is that a lot of people use bad language and you can't shield your kids from everyone/everything. You just have to teach them better when those things come up. I don't remember the f-bomb ever coming up during the movie. The worst I heard was pussy. By the way they are in a war and during my time in Iraq I heard the f-bomb a lot. That is the nature of war. I guess no one likes a little reality in their movies.

Well, I wish I lived in your fantasy world where Transformers are real.
It's a fantasy movie, they can do without language and still have a great movie.
I mean, look at Star Wars, the worse language was damn. Lord of the Rings didn't have any language in it and it was still amazing.

That's alright I expected the quip about reality and it being about the Transformers. I'll just let the box office takes prove that I am right and that the language doesn't take away from the movie. Oh look it's #1 again, above Ice Age that has no bad language.

I am not a parent, so naturally I havent had set a bench mark on what i would/wouldnt let my kids watch. I didnt feel the language was so strong that i felt i would cover my kids ears, What would have concerned me is the level violence in both films. In the 1st one we see Jazz get ripped in half and Prime put a sword thru a Decpitcons' head. In the second film (when reviving megatron) we see an ordered execution of a smaller decepticon (in quite a "casually ruthless" way), we also see Wheelie have his eye burnt out, now if Wheelie was human i think we would have seen the rating jump considerably, but where it was Robots that were beening hurt/injured/damaged/Killed, the rating stayed mild

I think comparing Ice Age and Transformers is comparing apples with oranges. Transformers will be the bigger film as its aimed at a wider audience. Ice Age (as awesome ast they are) are geared toward kids/young families. Although Transformers aims for young kids, it also is a "go and see with your mates" or "with the Girlfriend" films as well the "young families" audience

Just because something is popular, doesn't mean that it's good. Examples: Rap/hip hop, reality shows, American Idol, etc. It might have been a decent movie, I just couldn't sit through it and watch it. I don't know what it was, I just couldn't stand watching it. Maybe I just want to remember the Transformers in their better days. =/

To each his own, but Transformers in there "better days" was way too touchy feely. It never captured the idea that they were fighting a war and war is a deadly business. No body every died back then. How can you tell young people that war is bad business when nobody ever got seriously hurt or died? This Transformer teaches a valuable lesson that liberals miss in the translation and try to call it warmongering and violence. "So don't call it violence, call it action, kids love action!"

As far as comparing apples to oranges. Transformers 2 first week box office gross was second to only one movie and that was The Dark Knight. That does say something about the movie. As far as I am concerned the more that movie critics don't like it the better the movie it is. Movie critics are the vocal minority and don't go along with the main stream views of what makes a good movie.

okay you lost me the second you made this political what do liberals have to do with this if anything censorship stems from the ideological right and conservatives who didnt want nipple slips and language who tried censoring shows like the simpsons south park roseanne married with children all in their prime. Just look at the whole superbowl janet jackson thing a few people wrote letters and that was it

I'm not talking about the violence/action of the Transformers when I say 'better days', I'm talking about how it was just way more fun/enjoyable to watch than the movies. I'll probably say the same when GI Joe comes out, because let's face it, that movie looks like they took the source material and wiped their ass with it.
