I got a big ol' E74 on my screen and a single red light. Not covered under the extended warranty.
Any suggestions? Should I try to fix? Or should I try and force the RROD instead?
If I should try and fix, are there any good tutorials out there?

I had "not proper RRoD" the E74 code about 2 yrs back, its related to the GPU and as Tiers links show its just means the GPU chip has lifted off the mother board (I think a "proper RRoD" releates to the CPU coming away)
Homebuilt. when mine went "tits up" back in march 07 (link here ) you posted thet you Elite went wrong a while b4, is this the same console or you replacement? I be pretty pissed the way you have been going thru them

this of course isnt good for the xbox, another Red Ring dilema is just gonna cause shit again on the net
hopefully though MS will fucking foolproof the next xbox to a point where nothing goes wrong with it in a hundred years!!!
