See last time my 360 broke, they did everything and I went weeks with no 360, however there was stuff I had on my hard-drive that would error out if I tried to play it. I'm thinking that's what is causing this some of the content to do full 100% download. I have 63 items I have to do this with, and I've been at it for over an hour. But if I'm successful it will be worth it.
So far one problem is that my Elite had HDMI and this thing doesn't, which is now a problem because when I'm away from the house I use a 22" LCD computer monitor with HDMI, so now I guess I'm going to have to buy and adapter. The other problem is that it's white so that's it don't match. Thirdly when I get my Elite back, I will have to go through all of this again. Maybe I should of just sent it off and saved the $170 and headache.
So has anybody else gone through this?

As for the one you just got, well... you only have to download the content you are planning to use untill your elite returns. So if W@W is all you play, only DL that stuff. Although, your elite will not be back before you leave so I understand why you are trying to DL it all.
Just remember, even if you DL it agian, it may not work. The license is still tied to your old elite SN. When the repair process is complete, it should be tied to your new elite SN. If you are online, you will not have a problem, but if you are offline, you will not be able to use your DLC.
Here's my reccommendation:
Don't bother with re-DL'ing. It doesn't do much. Once your elite comes back (if you're gone by then) use the License Transfer Tool on xbox.com to transfer all your licenses to your white xbox. You can only do this once every year. When you get back next year, you can transfer the licenses over to your elite.

when my 360 went wrong, i bought a new one, attached the original HDD to the new console, signed into XBL and it all worked, I think all i did have to re'DL was the SWBF1/2/ maps

Anyway I woould be careful about buying a used 360 I would be afraid of getting a banned console. Also all the new arcade versions have HDMI

I know that was the case a while ago, but didnt they recently change the DRM (Digital Rights Management) so you didnt have to sign in to play your arcade games? This was because as more and more people upgrading their (or to) HDDs, people were getting sick of having to sign in to prove the contents was theirs just because they upgraded to a new 120Gb HDD
