i am so up for this,i loved the first ,even if no one else did(at the time),i remember renting the video as we had just got a video player..Tron must of been one of the very first VHS that we rented

i now have the 2 disc DVD version

the film has a strange atmosphere to it,prolly because of being in the video game...but it was still the special effects that did the film good(story was still crazy)

This looks like a good un. But I'm sure I read somewhere they have re written the story half a dozen times. Fingers crossed they do a good job.

that looks impressive, i think Tron is one of the films that all my mates had, so i didnt get it and never properly saw (the bike chase rang bells, along with the disc weapon)

might treat myself to this 2 disc Ed you speak of Orph. i would love to hear all those "Tronic sounds" thru 5.1

any idea of a release? from that clip it looks pretty much finished (all the visual effects and sounds are there) next summer will be the earliest, i suppose

man, that was cool, even though that was over 25yrs ago and it has aged a bit, you still have to tip your hat to it. its certianly put the Phantom Mence pod race in the shade nearly 20yrs later.

i like they way they are sticking with the original "Tron look" and just given it a 21st century makeover instead of giving it a whole new look (like the SW prequels)

like i said,it seems that they can deal with more than left/Right angles..in the tron 2 trailer you see the light cycle stream bend more naturally when they turn,wheras Tron1 had the sharp turns


i wonder if David Warner will be in it ..

Light cycles look very different from the original,but then again Video Game Graphics have come a long way also..and as this is in a game it makes perfect sense

wow, I didnt notice it was "young" jeff bridges on the yellow bike in Nats vid (it is there, its just the rez is so low). Does that mean he is like the "new Master Controller" or (and i think this will bet better) that he has been enslaved by his own program (hence there being and old Jeff bridges in that appartment)?

i got the impression he had become pretty much David Warner in the first one,the New Master controller....but you could be right about the other,i didn't even think something like that

i gotta watch the original again

i was gonna ask i wonder if Tron was actually in this,so i looked up Tron on IMDB and the same guy who played him(and his creator)are in this one as well..David Warner(who i just found out is from Manchester)isn't ...which is a shame,i like him in a lot of films(most of all The Omen and Time Bandits)


just looking at David Warner,and he has done a lot of VG voice work...he did a voice in Fallout 1

for me the jury is still out to whether he is a baddy or not, when you look at him he looks like a "prisoner", he is barefoot and bearded, but he has a expensive looking braclet(you only see it for a split second) on his wrist and his appartment looks quite luxurious. maybe he has become the "imprisoned ruler"

yeah you could be right,he seems unmoved about whats about to happen(and he knows)...unless he is a prisoner of himself and he hates what he has become etc etc......just like EA and Activision LOL

maybe he sold/milked his original video game idea..Space Paranoids or whatever it was called

saying that though,how has he got back,?if that is a young Jeff Bridges(and it does look like it),usually the programme is in that world and the user in our world..,he must of gone back,to be a prisoner in the first place

i finally got round to rewatching Tron on DVD,good film but i can see why some people were put off by it...it is very...nerdy,so to speak
