[Knick Knack Natra]

Last on TV there was a movie G4 that actually kept my attention to that channel. (that channel sucks compared to TechTV). It is a documentary about a guy who beats the high score of Donkey Kong that was over 20years old. What makes it a movie is the person he beats. The man he beats has several high scores in many classic arcade games. This arcade legend (Billy Mithcell)acts like a pompus Caesar and the movie focuses on his reactions to this guys challenge.

The movie came out last year, so it was a surprise to see it on G4. They did an epilogue after the show with Sessler and Webb, but with G4, they can't make anything have value without bringing it down to a 12 year level who had half a bottle of Corn Syrup.

Rent it and you'll see just how dorkey the earlly 80's really was,(except when P Cates walks out of the pool) and the dorks who haven't left.

I give it 3 1/2 quarters out of 4.

I really liked this movie.
I didn't like that pompous douche bag that held the record and how they played him out to be like God of the Arcade world. I mean, that guy submitted his tape, they thought it was a fake so he practiced and strategized, could barely afford to make it to that place to get the high score, beats it only for that gay douche bag to submit a tape that was probably 15-20 years old and them accept it without question... wtf? I thought that was pretty retarded. But the movie itself was really good. =]

I met that guy Billy Mitchell at the Pac-man world championship last year. I think he actually played himself in th emovie...which is pretty funny if he was a jerk in the movie. I have heard good thing about the movie befor ethis.. maybe I'll rent it.

Yes you need to see this movie, but just watch or Tivo it on G4 so you can see the exclusive after the movie show. For example the King of Kong 2 skit was hillarious. I feel the movie showed how hard it is to get into something that been going on for awhile just because you not in that click. Kinda like Patrick cause he's new. Ya know, how we don't let him in the exclusive BFG club forum thread where all the cool kids hang out. hahahahahaha j/k We're not like that here.
