man, that's been a good few months now aint it? oh no I remember, your Elite Broke with a few months didnt it

well, mine is all boxed off ready for the UPS guy, had to buy a box and some bubblewrap that cost me the better part of a fiver plus the 60 notes they want to repair it

I bought one of the Elite dongles so i can use the HDMI port on my 360 and TV still use the optical output for the sound.

360s are like women, you want to use all the ports available, they're great when you 1st get one but you find yourself buying more and more acessories for it, they are noisey when they are on, they breakdown without warning no matter how well you treat them and you always fear the red ring of death!
Mind you,a 360 wont get jealous when you upgrade to a better model!

i would of given them a shitload of abuse...but then again i dont want to be banned again from xbox live,the first time during my star wars battlefront addiction was bad enough

Well, it did piss me off, but at then end of the day I was only speaking to a guy in a call centre (i have worked on the frontline with the public,) so i know they are only following instructions and theier is nothing they can do.

you being banned from Xbox, is this about you running a chipped Xbox and even when the chip was turned off, Xboxlive live still picked it up and suspended your account?

Condolences on your 360. I had a similar problem.. My DVD drive went after a year and 9 months. NOt covered under standard warranty (1 year) or rrod warranty (3 years). Luckily I had an extended warranty from Best buy. I received the amount I spent on the 360 on a gift card. With that and some Best buy rewards I was able to buy an Elite. However I didn't wait for the card (about 2 weeks). I bought the replacement the next day.

When my neices' 360 got the RROD I bought the arcade version and lent it to them while theirs was in for repair (it broke the week before christmas). I now have the extra just in case.

wow,so many people getting RRoD.....wondering if when i sent my 360 to get my disc tray fixed,they may of done something to mine to prevent it,as i havent had any trouble since(touch wood)

and yes skin...i had my xbox chipped,it was the kind you could turn on and off....hold down the on button for 5 seconds to turn it on
i had pretty much every xbox 1 game going,bought 5 for £20 every week(thats how cheap they were)..and i could still play star wars battlefront online ...anyway,a new game came out that had new software hidden inside the actual game programme,i wont name the game that 'busted' me..(HALO FUCKING 2)..and wheather you had the chip turned on or not it could detect it,so after playing that game and then trying to go online i got a message that said 'YOU'RE FUCKING BANNED ME OLD BEAUTY'

so i rang up MS,they told me the problem,i acted dumb(which isnt hard for me),and they were quite good about it,and said if i buy a new xbox i could get LIVE back again,and i havent gone back to bootlegs since :)

just to give you guys a "bullet dodge" update, my console came back today, my dad is now playing PGR4 on it, not a bad turn around 2weeks from collection to return.
According to Microsoft the DVD drive and the motherboard had packed up, they have gave me a 1month trial of Xbox live as "compenstation", what use is that? I have a yearly and it aint up for renewal till Sept, well I am gonna give that to my dad, see if i can get him online
