I'm just about ready to chuck my 360 into the darkest corner of my closet and leave it there. And since I don't have access to my profile I couldn't play on it even if I wanted to. Here's what happened.

I tried to play some Arcade games that I downloaded eons ago but never played. When I got into the game it said I was in the trial version. So I redownloaded the game but no luck. Still trial version. So I deleted those games from my hard drive and redownloaded them again. No luck. So I decided to delete my profile and redownload that. Why? Because last week when I was having connection issues (trial games instead of full versions) I got a funky msg in one game that "this profile is no longer allowed to download arcade games". Eh? My problem now is that about halfway through the account recovery I get a msg that the "account creation tool is not currently available". Which means I can't recover my account. Which means I can't play anything on my 360. And if you go to the website all funtions are "up and running".

I've tried it twice and right now I don't even want to go near my 360 because I'm affraid of what I might do to it. But during the second attempt I was thinking about the problem. The games that I was trying to access (and there were more than one) I think I originally downloaded onto my original console which my brother is currently using. I know that those that have sent their consoles back for repair and have gotten a different system back have been having problems with the arcade games because of the system the game was originally register for when it was first downloaded. Because I'm currently using my second console (same hard drive though) it might not be unlocking the registration code for me. So I should probably call Microsoft but I probably need to have my profile recovered before than and I CAN'T DO THAT. So I'm really getting pissed off here.

yeah i heard about having to have the same machine for your arcade games(and i have heard how many arcade games you have and think you are crazy..but thats okay,i like crazy)..and also i know you have to be connected to live to play the games as well..both of these are stupid,you have paid for the game you should be able to play it whenever

all i suggest you do is waot until servers are clear(xbox live has been back to its old christmas fuck ups during this weekend)try it when you are off work tomorrow,when less people are on..and then call them about the arcade problem,your downloads should still be on your profile info(but if so,it should let you download the full games again)

can you still play games when you are not connected to live at all?,i am thinking that now is the time for you to start lost odyssey

I just spent 2 hours on the phone with Xbox and here's what they said: 1) I'll need to redownload those games to my original system, play them for a bit, then I should be able to play them on my new system 2) I can't recover my profile because my internet connection must be timing out. Everything on their end it okay (of course it is). They suggested I try recovering my account at someone else's place (preferably with a different internet provider) and see if that works. My suggestion: buy a PS3.

Oh, and I know I couldn't play any Arcade games, but I'm not sure I could play any disk games. And I don't think I would either. Anything I would do that would unlock an achievement wouldn't count towards my profile since I wouldn't be logged in to my profile. I think I'll have to dusk off the PS2 today. I was already planning on going to my parents tomorrow (my mom and I are going to go see a movie) so maybe I can at least fix my profile problems tomorrow. Unless I get antsy and go over there tonight to fix it.

Anyway.....i think you should wait for your profile to get fixed so you can get the achievements,as you are still in competition with your bro..and it would be a shame if you missed out on some because of one day...but then again,i am not sure if you get that many achievements from lost odyssey from the first disc

I got my profile back Sunday night. But ever since then I haven't had much interest in playing anything for very long.

As far as my gamerscore compared to dain's: I got to within 9 points and then the next time I logged in he was almost 200 points ahead again. I fixed that a little bit. I ran some of the Lego Star Wars II "undefeated" missions. Now I"m only 79 points behind.

you get 125 points when you get to the end of disc 1 of Lost Odyssey

and why not rent LOST,that should be a one time play through

actually penny,from looking at your achievements,(sorry,been peeking again)...why dont you start on the single player campaign of call of duty 4,i notice you have no points from it...you should play through the single player at least once even if its on easy difficulty,its a good 5-6 hrs but it is cool

Actually the only way you will be able to do CoD4 single player is to unplug the ethernet cable from the 360. Otherwise we will harrass you with multiplayer invites. Or you can wait for RB6V2 to come out, CoD4 looks to be dead for awhile during vegas time.

I did finally play COD4 single player on Sunday. I picked up 90 points which put me 11 points ahead of dain. I'm sure that will change on Thursday when he is off work. But I have monday off so hopefully I can make up the ground.

COD4 is a good point-gainer as they are all offline achievements (so you dont get the "no one kill me please, i am trying to get my invinicible achievement etc" during matches. I suck online on COD4 but i have still manged to rinse 800+ points out of it

Penny, spare a thought for me. Gigi and I use to compete on gamerpoints till she got like 900 on me now

You should be able to close the gap with the filler games until RB62. I'm playing Mass Effect but really don't like it and the achievements don't come easy, atleast for me.

cod4 has taken a back seat for me at the moment as i am really likeing lost odyssey....also,come this monday i am buying Bully,then that will be it for games until GTA4 on 29th April

gigi,i really liked mass effect...and there is new content coming for the game..hmm,next week i think

penny,dont forget to pick up intel during missions on COD4(i am sure you can find the locations for them on the net somewhere),then you wont have to go though the levels again and it opens up different playing styles for the game(and you get achievements of course)

wchstr-i know rainbow will be popular,not sure if it will overtake COD4 online though,even i am suprised it has overtaken halo 3 for the last few weeks

Speaking of CoD4 intel items, talk about FUN! I love playing with cluster bomb, infinate ammo, and slow mo, it's SO MUCH fun with a 203 gernade launcher and infinate ammo.

yeah they are hidden away in levels,like in a room that you wouldnt normally need to go in etc...not sure how many i actually got,dont think it was that many,and i never did go and unlock the stuff for finding them

Yeah all the achievements are on single player. I had a game mag that had all intel items and how to find them.
