I need help.
I'm hankering for a 360 (I know, I know, 2years late) and want to get it in the next few weeks.
Should I stick with standard warranty for MS. I know it's 3 years For RRoD, but whats the rest?
Anyone bought one from a store. $30 at Target seems good for how much time can be put on the machine.
Any prices to look at?

What games are you looking to buy? I'd be more than happy to play some Gear of War or Rainbow 6: Vegas or anything else you get that I have.

If you get a warranty, make sure you can return it to the store even if it is covered under the mfr warranty (most do not).
Safest bet is to get the MS warranty. They will transfer it to your new serial # when you send in for repair.

RB6 Looks great and would love some pointers as well as COD 4.I'll be picking up Lego Star Wars for the Kiddies. I'm certainly up to trying other games, but my life doesn't allow. I'm trying to set it up for the Free halo3 when you buy and activate between 11/21 and 12/21.
I'm probably heading to either best buy or target. I have enough points built on my credit card to get giftcards from either store, or Circuit city.
How much was the Warranty at BB?
Where do they offer the warranty From Microsoft?
Are you happy to step up to the 120 hard drive. Or have you been happy with 20GB?

The MS Warranty in in the box, fill out the card and send in the dough... I think they also give a toll-free # and a website also. If i can find mine when I get home, I'll post the details. (Wish I woulda known before I got mine.)
The hard drive will depend on your use. If you want to play RPG's, DL demos or videos and movies, then you'll need the 120GB. In the short time I've had mine, I've used over 40GB. I'm not real sure how.... It seems to dissappear easy though.
Make sure you check the Warranty details at the store before you buy. When I was shopping around, Best Buy had the worst one. They wouldn't honor thier warranty if it was in the MS warranty period, and they only offered a replacement if the mfr can't repair it. (which means waiting 4+ weeks)
Circuit City and Target both have excellent warranties, but make sure it will transfer if MS sends you a new box, or if they will even cover it in the MS warranty period.
As for games, Gamez-N-Flicks is my savior. Less than $15 a month and I can have 3 games or movies out at a time. Works like NetFlix. Really saves my ass on the Wii, most of those games are fun, but not worth full price for me.

Yeah, it's a pretty sweet deal. Sometimes it's hard to get games as soon as they are out, but the price is right. I can have 3 out at one time for $13.95 a month. They have games for all consoles, plus DVD, HD-DVD, and BLU-RAY. They even have VOD if you're into that.
Use the promo code 'EMMYS'
If anyone is interested in a 30 day free trial, PM me your email address. I get a free month if you join. (Maybe then I could afford COD4!)

I'll look at CC's and targets phone number for warranty service and give them a call about the change of boxes.
Thanks for looking at the M$ paper and price.
