Shoot Em Up

Shoot em up stars Clive Owen, Paul Giamati, Monica Belluci. Clive is a relative stranger in this movie you don't even know who he is throughout the whole movie. He's just some stranger on a street who stores weapons in a baby changing station in a bathroom. Clive is just minding his business at a park bench when a pregnant woman runs by him and is being chased by some random guy. Clive doesn't seem to care until the guy pulls out a gun and that's when Clive's character "Mr Smith" gets involved. He dispatches the gunman and helps deliver the girl's baby. He tries helping the woman and child escape and fights more gunmen until she is killed. From then on out Mr. Smith takes it upon himself to take care of and protect the baby. Monica Belluci is a formerly pregnant whore who panders to guys with a milk fetish. Paul Giamati is pretty sadistic in this movie. No matter how many hired guns die he still throws everything he can into trying to kill the baby. It may take a bit for the viewer to suspend their disbelief at some of the stunts. Say for instance shooting a file drawer to dispatch a badguy or shooting out a windshield and flying into the other car and safely killing everyone in it. All in all this is entirely an action film. Plenty of dead bodies to go around. Some of the stunts are off the wall crazy like shooting people during skydiving in the air, etc. I have come to like some of Clive Owen's films and like a lot of the choices he has made career wise. Plus he's english and likes to kill people so the whole movie comes off pretty well. The dialog is often short in between the action and time after time it is cut short because Clive is being shot at. Also look for the sex scene mixed with a gun fight. That part is quite interesting.

I thought the plot was weak but the high body count made the movie alright, I didn't pay to watch it so I can't complain.
