War

Just thought I'd start this review with the preceding song as every time I hear the word "war" I think of this song. Nothing like seeing Edwin Starr belt this song out.
War stars Jet Li as an assassin named Rogue he is pitted against Jason Statham who plays an FBI agent caught in the midst of a war between the Yakuza and the Triads in San Francisco. Jason Statham's partner and his family are murdered by Rogue and over the next three years Jason tries to find Rogue and ends up destroying his family life in the process. Rogue returns 3 years later and starts working for the yakuza and then he switches sides and works for the Triads. He starts a war between the two opposing gangs meanwhile the FBI is caught in the middle. I don't want to say too much here though as halfway through the movie the movie throws you a curveball which makes you question the loyalties of all sides involved.
Was a pretty action packed movie and Jet Li didn't disappoint with his martial arts skills. Not bad for a guy whose pushing 50 soon. All in all I liked it but i still want to see superbad but its not playing near me. Lot of bad guys died and it was interesting as Jet Li was using a mix of martial arts and a mix of gunplay. He'd shoot people and still use a sword. Was pretty nuts.
