okay just finished playing the demo
everything,or nearly everything can be destroyed, gun fights wont let down the john woo/chow yun fat fans, its mega violent
first of all, when you approach a table or a waist high bar,you will slide over it automatic,i felt like dick van dyke when i first started playing as i tried to weave inbetween a set of tables
right trigger is to fire(fire both guns if double wielding)
left trigger is to dive(to dive and shoot takes you into tequila mode)..tequila mode being slo-mo matrix/max payne style
D-pad....
left is to heal yourself, you get this oppertunity to do so,the more stylish your kills are,you earn stars and therfor it fills a bar on the D-pad,later on in the game the UP on the Dpad becomes the precise shot, where after you press it you aim and then it goes into a little cut scene following your bullet to the target....other uses of the D-pad are barrage, that you get for finishing the demo and spin attack that i have yet to see
'A' button is to switch weapons,if you have already picked up another weapon
RB is to go into tequila mode automatically
health packs are also on show(at least were in the normal mode)to regenerate a bit of health
pistols, golden pistols and shotguns were the weapons i picked up along the way
instead of just shooting your enemies, you can shoot shop signs etc that are above them and this will cause them to fall on the target...or even Gas canisters can be shot to explode
cutscenes are good, feels very much like a movie....oh and look out for John Woo himself as a barman(little cameo)
the graphics are good, not mega great, but they do the job,the face maps of chow yun fat and others are good, its got the real gritty feel of Hong Kong that you often see in the movies
at the end of the demo it said that i had unlocked Hard mode, and barrage....it also said that there were 7 levels in the full game spreading from Hong Kong to Chicago, hopefully then these levels will be lengthy......the demo level is split up by a few cutscenes...there will alos be multiplayer matches
nothing else i can think of at the moment
OH,1 more thing, half way through the level you will come across the first of 2 stand offs....which takes place all slo mo with about 4 or 5 enemies, you have to target them while dodgeing their bullets using the right stick, its pretty cool
and yeah the download took about 1hr 45 minutes altogether....and took about 20-25 minutes to play...still good fun though
EDIT: i have just heard that a lot of people, mainly England and America are having problems downloading this, they are either stuck on 0% for 10-15minutes or they get an error code, its about time that MS did something about the slowness of the popular downloads, using more servers perhaps..i'm not really sure how it works
but anyway,be alert,if you get the error code or the download isnt moving, wait until tomorrow ....it can wait
BOBBLE:wahts that bottom picture in your sig?,it looks like a final fantasy pic/character

i think it will be a while until the nest online final fantasyMMO,that was just for 11...12 was only on the PS2,and at the moment it looks like FF13 will only be on the PS3...with the Wii haveing their own FF game

So, is the one on the 360 worth getting at all? I still don't like the idea of paying per month when I pay for Live. lol

very hard question to answer
the world is fantastic, massive and quite well detailed for a 4-5 year old game, its still fun riding chocobos, airships to the other side of the world(vana'diel)...if you can get into a good linkshell(clan),its a lot of fun because you will all be doing missions and quests together,so they wont be as hard
the one thing that really pisses me off about this game is the grinding(levelling up),all RPGs and MMOs have grinding...but where others have you still getting little EXP from the shit weak enemies, this one doesnt,so you cant get around levelling up,you have to go to the next big monster
(remember cartman and co in south park world of warcraft spending weeks killing rabbits and what to get crappy XP?...well you cant do that in this.....and if you die,it punishes you a lot,you lose a good 3-4 hrs worth of EXP)
the grinding was what eventually put me off the game,i just didnt have the time and a lot of epople in my linkshell, were either unemployed or on benefits,so they played nearly 24/7,and i couldnt keep up,i still have my account running though, and every now and then i pop in and say hello to the regulars
because of you paying monthly(its 9 quid for me...prolly about 5 dollars i guess for you)and because of the time you put in,this isnt like most games, this is like a job,LOL
if walking, whcih you more or less HAVE to do from level 1-20 from one side of Vana'diel to the other it would prolly take about 4-5 hrs,and unlike other FF games, you can see the enemies and avoid them, unless they see you and give chase
i cant say how funny it is seeing a level 10 being chased out of the dunes by a goblin, while the guy is screaming for some higher level to help him...but i'm evil like that
to be fair to square enix, they have good servers...32 in all(do the math.....i do a search and there are about on average at least 3k people on the server at off peak times(nearly 5k at peak times).....times by 9 pound a month, then times by 32 servers)
3000 people x £9= £27,000
£27,000 x 32 servers= £864,000<<<just think what WoW could be!!(in dollars thats 1.7 million-ish)
not bad for a month, and thats just the people on the servers, some like me,still pay but dont play(and thats not included the price of the game)and a new expansion comes out in a few months
you can of course get a free months trial, but that means you still have to buy the game and you cant take it back, because of codes you use ...and also it takes up 7 gig of hard drive,so my 20 gig(13 gig) is full all the time
i am sure though that more MMOs will be coming to the 360.....jsut a damn shame they cost money, lol
oh,and this is the only online game on xbox live where you dont need GOLD...but then of course that means you cant play online with your other games

Eh, I'll just wait until Two Worlds releases and I'll pick that one up. I know it's not a true MMO but should be fun none the less. Lemme know if you get this one Orphan so we can game together!

I just had a quick crack at the demo, it seems ok a good ol' fashioned no brainer blaster. As Orph said so good bits with the bullet time thing and a few other nice original touches.
looks like a good game but not good enough to justify the price tag. if i saw it on ebay and i had a spare 30quid then maybe

i would buy it if we got the same deal as PS3 owners(they get the prequel hard boiled movie with the game on the same bluray)...but i will wait, especially if it is only 7 levels
