Military Engagements - Getting Started
All information here is based on using the game on this site, unless otherwise stated.
Military engagements is an army game which allows you to build an army, attack other armies, and join forces with other armies. Armies are ranked and this system allows you to build up your cash.
In order to join the game you must choose a race. After selecting Military Engagements, you are brought to a page that has a list of all the current players and their ranking. On the left side there is a menu item "Race Picking". Click on that item.
There are 10 races with differing bonus additions and subtractions. This information might be helpful to those already in the game and you should be able to see the races and their bonuses if you choose reset race. Be Careful here though! I believe you will lose men if you change races.
There is a drop down list at the top of the list. Use that to choose your race.
You will then be brought to your base page. It basically tells you about your army.
There are 4 areas you need to build up:
Attack
Defense
Spy
Sentry
Each of these areas has a bonus number associated with it. As you increase your capabilities in this area this number grows
You are then ranked in each of these areas and the combination of those ranks determine your overall rank. You can see your standings on the base page. (See Menu Post - TBD )
When you attempt to attack, spy or sabotage another player that just because they are below you doesn't mean you will win. If you attack in order to win your Attack bonus has to be larger than their defense bonus. If you spy or sabotage your spy bonus has to be higher then their sentry bonus.
This bonus for each area is calculated by combining:
1) Your race additions and or subtractions
2) The number of men you have in that area
3) The Weapons/Armor/ Tools for that area
4) The general technology level in that area.
The general Technology areas are as follows:
Attack - Siege Technology - Upgrade on the Armory page (10?? levels)
Defense - Fortification - Upgrade on the Armory page (10?? levels)
Spy - Covert skill - Upgrade on the Training page (12 levels)
Sentry - none
The tools/weapons are bought on the Armory Page. It is more important that you arm all of your men then to have more powerful weapons (This is according to the softwares website)
There are three ways to increase your army
1) Your unit production gives you a certain number of untrained soldiers every 20 minutes. You can upgrade this number on the training page. I believe there are 20 level with a min level of 0 to a max of 795.
2) Buy Mercenaries. There are a total of 200,000 mercenaries available every 30 minutes (25000 attack, 25000 defense, 150000 untrained). However this is the one resource that is "shared" among all players. In other words once those mercenaries are bought they are not available to anyone else. So make sure you get there first! Important note: There is no way to train untrained mercenaries, they are basically your bantha fodder in battles.
3) Click on your recruiter link. This will supply you with a bunch of untrained soldiers. I have gotten 10,000. It also takes money from you. I am not sure about this but I think it takes all the money you have. I am not sure whether you have to have a certain amount. According to the software's website whether you have a commander or are other peoples commander also affects this but I am not sure how.
Your bonuses also contribute to the money you make every hour. I have read on the software's website that the mercenaries actually deplete your income but I think the attack or defense bonus covers that and then some. Especially, if you have their armor/weapon maxed out.
Updates - times are approximate based on my observation
Rank updates happen twice an hour on :20 :50
You get paid once an hour on the :20
Mercenaries are replenished at :20 :50
Your Unit Production additions happen every 20 minutes at :00 :20 :40
