So, I saw 300 last night.

300 is a movie about the war between Sparta and the world...led by a persian who claims to be a God. 300 spartan warriors set out to the north to fight the army of amazingly high numbers. I don't want to say too much more because most of the movie takes place there. Now remember that this movie is not based on the story of Sparta, but is a grafic novel by Frank Miller...the creator of Sin City. This was definitely a graffic movie. I really liked this film and recommend it for sure. I give it 2 thumbs up.

The movie is all in color, but definitely done comicbook-like. Had it been done with normal coloring, I would not have liked it so much. The visual effects difinitely stand out in this film.

Yeah this movie is awesome I'm going to see it this weekend. To give you an idea corphan I think they said they shot it 90% on Green Screen and 10% on blue screen. There's really only one scene they needed a real set for and that was with the horses. Everything else was all digitally made that's why the colors are so vibrant and surreal.

It's just bigger really. They use film that is like 3-4 times the size of a normal theater, which is 35mm.

No, it will still be film. I won't ever watch another movie in IMAX though. I went to see episode 2 at ours here. Had to pay $10 first off. Then they cut a good chunk out of the movie so that it would all fit on the platter. Not really important parts, but important to me. After that, I was pissed, knowing that I missed sections of the movie. Since then, I swore to never watch a movie in IMAX again. I would rather watch it at a normal theater. That way, I know I am seeing the whole movie.

i saw #2 on the imax as well and was upset with the price i paid $14 to see the same movie on a larger screen. the film was the same size as in the regular movie house it left alot of the screen void during the imax showing. the sound was better but the movie was just the same.

i don't recall anything being cut out from the regular showing, but it was also a few years ago and my memory does not go back that far.

The conversation between Anakin and Padme, where he is talking about killing all the tuskan raiders was gone. There was a bit real early in the movie too. I was quietly quoting the movie and when the scene was not there, I was pissed!
